14.03.2023

Applications are now open for financial aid for businesses affected by the fires of the summer of 2022 and the floods and flooding of December 2022 and January 2023. The Government has announced a total of 25 million euros for these financial aids.

Applications can be submitted via an electronic form available on the Balcão dos Fundos from 15 March until 5.59 pm on 2 May 2023. The conditions of this aid can be consulted in the Notice for the submission of applications.

The financial aid is provided in a non-refundable grant, up to 70% of the value and with a limit of 140,000 euros, after taking into account the insurance or other compensations already received.

The applications must include a damage report made by a certified entity, such as insurance companies or qualified experts.

The Regional Coordination and Development Commissions (Comissões de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional) will be responsible for analysing applications and allocating the financial aids.

Of the total amount, 20 million euros are reserved for companies that suffered damage caused by floods and flooding and 5 million euros for companies affected by forest fires.

Companies affected by floods and inundations located in municipalities that registered extreme occurrences in December 2022 and January 2023 can apply. See Annex III of the Notice for the submission of applications for the eligible municipalities.

Also included are companies affected by forest fires located in the municipalities of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park: Celorico da Beira, Covilhã, Gouveia, Guarda, Manteigas and Seia. Companies located in severely affected municipalities, such as Carrazeda de Ansiães, Mesão Frio, Murça, Vila Real, Albergaria-a-Velha, Alvaiázere, Ansião and Ourém can also apply.
