Adhesion to the Mobile Digital Key by biometrics reaches 33 thousand activations in January

Launched in late 2022, the activation of the Mobile Digital Key (CMD) using biometrics achieved, during its first month, 33,000 activations, reaching 29% of the total CMD activations made during this period.

This feature allows, through the Authentication.gov mobile application for Android, iOS or Huawei, the activation of the Mobile Digital Key in an immediate and secure way.

With this result, the CMD activated through the Autenticação.gov mobile application, using facial verification (biometrics), became the main channel for activations of this means of authentication and digital signature certified by the Portuguese State.

The Mobile Digital Key allows access and online services from public and private entities. Currently, around 3 million Digital Mobile Keys are active.
