Assistente virtual com Inteligência Artificial vai apoiar os cidadãos no ePortugal

The ePortugal portal will, as of today, May 26, provide support to citizens through a virtual assistant with avatar, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI). The presentation takes place this morning at 10:30 am at the Centro Cultural de Belém and live on the AMA Youtube channel. During the presentation a demonstration of the project will be made.

The virtual assistant aims to help citizens in their digital interaction with public services and has the Digital Mobile Key as a pilot service for the use of this technology. The virtual assistant will be available 24 hours a day.

The Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization, Mário Campolargo, indicates that: "this launch represents a significant milestone in the digital transformation of public services in Portugal and one of the elements of the new attendance strategy of the future that AMA is developing. In addition to promoting closer ties between the State and citizens, this is an innovative solution that adds an avatar with voice in Portuguese to the communication channels with the public sector".

This technological solution results from a joint work between AMA and several private entities, such as Microsoft, as a Cloud technology supplier, through Azure OpenAI Service and support to the development of the pilot. This technological partner was joined by Defined.AI, which developed the voice model optimized for Portuguese and articulated the development of the avatar with a start-up specialized in artificial intelligence, Daredata, the partner responsible for the integration and implementation of the pilot.
