Up to six months after the date the health care is provided to you. After this period, the ADSE cannot reimburse expenses.
When you cannot request the reimbursement within the time limit for a reason that is not your responsibility, you can send the documents after the time limit has expired. To do this, you need to attach proof of this reason to the application.

What are the documents and requirements to request the reimbursement of health expenses from ADSE?
To request the reimbursement, you will need to submit the originals of the expense documents (invoice, receipt or invoice-receipt, indicating the amount paid) and respective supporting documents (prescriptions, reports, etc.).

- login with the beneficiary holder’s ADSE number and password (or login through Portal das Finanças [Finances Portal])
- attach the scanned expense documents and their supporting documents
- send the original documents, by mail, to:

- Access ADSE Direta.
- Login with the beneficiary holder’s ADSE number and password (or login through Portal das Finanças [Finances Portal]).
- Choose the option “Send Reimbursement Request”.
- Choose the option “How to use”.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to request the reimbursement and click on “Pictures” to attach the necessary scanned documents.
On the employer (for active beneficiaries)
You can submit the expense documents and their supporting documents to the employer.
On the location
Go to a service desk, taking with you the expense documents and their supporting documents.
By mail
Send the reimbursement request by mail, together with the respective supporting documents.
