Service at Citizen Spots
The Citizen Spots combine a number of different public services from several entities in a single desk. At this desk you can activate a Digital Mobile Key, change the address of the Citizen Card or renew your driving license, among others.
An assistant helps you to do the service at the Citizen Spot, explaining each step from beginning to end. Then, if you want, you can do the service at home the next time.
There are Citizen Spots with a more specialized service, such as the Young Citizen Spots (Lisbon and Braga) and the Citizen Spaces integrated in the National Support Centers for Migrant Integration - CNAIM (Lisbon and Porto). These desks provide services and information adapted to the needs of young people and migrants, but anyone can use the services available at these Citizen Spots.
There are more than 800 Citizen Spots, from north to south of the country. You can find them in Citizen Shops, town halls, parish councils, libraries, among other places.

From the vast list of services that the Citizen Spots have available, these are some of the most sought after services, which you can also do online:
- Activate a Digital Mobile Key
- Citizen Card - renew, change address and confirm address
- Driving licence - renew, duplicate and replace
- Requesting a criminal record certificate or certificado de contumácia [declaration concerning failure or refusal to appear before a court] (this service is available in the various spots, with the exception of the Citizen Spots in the Laranjeiras and Porto Citizen Shops)
- ADSE Direta portal – submission of expense documents.
If you are looking for the nearest Citizen Spot and want to know if it has the service you want to use, follow these steps:
1. Go to the ‘Service desks - Opening and closing hours’ page.
2. You can filter by:
- Text - enter the name of the branch or location you are looking for
- Local de Atendimento - select ‘Citizen Spot’
- District - select your district
- Country - select your country.
3. In the results list, click on the name of the Citizen Spot to find out what services are available, as well as the address and hours of the spot
4. Check on the list of services if the service you want is available in that Citizen Spot.
The service at the Citizen Spaces is done without an appointment.
