ADSE no longer issues European Health Insurance Card

Since 9 November, applications for the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) have been exclusively handled by the Social Security Institute (ISS), with the ADSE thus no longer issuing the card.

The EHIC is a single model card, allowing those covered by a social protection scheme from one of the 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (until 30/12/2020) to obtain medical assistance from public care providers during their temporary stay in any of these countries.
