Open applications for the Upskill Programme

03.07.2020

The UPSkill - Digital Skills & Jobs Programme, aimed at people who are unemployed, with secondary or higher education, and who want to obtain qualifications in digital technologies, is already receiving applications. This programme is the result of a partnership between the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional [Institute for Employment and Professional Training] (IEFP,IP), the Conselho Coordenador dos Institutos Superiores Técnicos [Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes] (CCISP) and the Associação Portuguesa para o Desenvolvimento das Comunicações [Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications] (APDC).

This initiative is part of the Digital Transition Action Plan, approved in April, and its main objective is to respond to the needs of companies with qualified resources in digital technologies. In addition, the Upskill programme offers unemployed candidates the opportunity to have the necessary knowledge to start a new career.

The Programme consists of 6 months of intensive training in specific areas of information and communication technologies, followed by 3 months of on-the-job training in one of the participating companies.

Applications are made through a chatbot, which collects information about the candidates, and the follow-up is done by email.
