Citizens and entities can already apply for Funeral Expenses Reimbursement (RDF) through Segurança Social Direta (Direct Social Security).
 
RDF is a one-off payment to those who can prove that they have paid the funeral expenses. The application must be submitted within 90 days from the death’s registry date.
 
Interested parties must:
  • login at Segurança Social Direta
  • access the Family menu
  • choose the option Funeral expenses reimbursement > Claim the reimbursement of funeral expenses.
The submission of a claim for the Reimbursement of funeral expenses to Direct Social Security replaces the paper submission to the Social Security desks or in envelopes for delivery of documents.
