New service for automatic renewal of residence permit

The Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) has made available the new functionality for the online renewal of the residence permit for foreign citizens, third country nationals, resident in Portugal.

To confirm the renewal request, the citizen must access the "Personal Area" of the SEF Portal, and select the "Automatic Renewal" feature of the residence permit. Once the fees have been paid, the citizen will receive the Residence Permit at his/her address.

This functionality, which allows you to avoid travelling to a service desk, covers around 90,000 foreign citizens which residence permit meets the necessary conditions to be renewed digitally.
