From the academic year 2019/2020, the Ministry of Education may send to Social Security the information on school exams for students with a contract of association, enrolled in primary and secondary education, beneficiaries of family allowance and scholarships which payment is responsibility of the Social Security Institute.

The completion of school exams guarantees the granting and continuity of payment of family allowance, scholarship and survivor's pension. If the school exam is not completed by 9 August, payments will be suspended from the beginning of the school year, i.e. September.

Students who enrol after 31 July, for instance in higher education, can complete the school exam until 31 December, and the payment of benefits or pension will be resumed on the date on which they were suspended.

The completion of the school exam, through the Direct Social Security, is mandatory for all young people who receive a family allowance by Social Security, and the Social Security Identification Number (NISS) must be indicated at the time of enrolment.

This service should be extended in the coming academic years in order to cover as many students as possible.
