Change the data associated with the Digital Mobile Key

The Digital Mobile Key (CMD) keeps the data of the person who owns it associated with their registration when you activate it. 

You can change the following data associated with the CMD: 

  • mobile phone number
  • Authentication PIN
  • Signature PIN
  • e-mail address.

The change can be made on the authentication.gov portal, at a Citizen Centre or by telephone.

Note: For security reasons, it is not possible to change PIN codes over the phone.

    Change the data in the reserved area of the Autenticação.gov portal.

    Free of charge

    You will need a Digital Mobile Key (CMD) or Citizen Card to authenticate on the Autenticação.gov.pt portal.

    This service can be done with video call support. Click on the "Support" button on the right side of the page and schedule.

  • For people with active CMD and with the id.gov.pt application for Android, Huawei or iOS installed on a mobile phone with biometrics capabilities (facial verification or fingerprint).

Who can change the data associated with the Digital Mobile Key?

What do you need to change the data associated with the Digital Mobile Key?

There are no requirements to change your Digital Mobile Key details on the Autenticação.gov portal or at a Citizen Spot.

To change your details by phone, you need to have the id.gov.pt app for Android, Huawei or iOS installed on a mobile phone with biometric capabilities (facial recognition or fingerprint).

How change the data associated with the Digital Mobile Key?

You can change the following data associated with the CMD online, by telephone or at a Citizen Spot:

  • mobile phone number
  • Authentication PIN
  • Signature PIN
  • e-mail address.

Note: For security reasons, it is not possible to change PIN codes over the phone.

Online

Go to the Autenticação.gov portal and click on the "Login" option in the top right-hand corner of the page to log in and access your reserved area.

In the reserved area, choose the "My Digital Mobile Key" tab, where you can consult and change the data associated with your Digital Mobile Key.

Other actions you can take in the reserved area of the Autenticação.gov portal:

  • Activate or deactivate the digital signature associated with the Digital Mobile Key
  • Cancel your Digital Mobile Key.

By phone

To change the personal data associated with the Digital Mobile Key by phone, you need to have an active Digital Mobile Key (CMD) and have the id.gov.pt application for Android, Huawei or iOS installed on a mobile phone with biometric capabilities (facial recognition or fingerprint).

Call (+351) 210 489 010 or 300 003 990 (available on weekdays from 9am to 6pm). Depending on your tariff, this call may cost the same as a local call.

If you need to change the mobile phone number associated with CMD, you need to have both mobile phones with you in order to make the change.
