Who can request the severance grant?
To the termination of activity allowance are entitled the workers if, cumulatively, the following conditions are observed: Involuntary termination of the contractual bond with the employer Compliance with the warranty period of 360 days of exercise of a self-employment activity, economically dependent, with the correspondent effective payment of the contributions, for a period of 24 months immediately before the date of the involuntary termination of the service agreement The self-employed has been deemed economicaly dependent from the employer on the civil year before the termination of the service agreement The self-employed has been deemed economicaly dependent to the date of termination of the service agreement Registry at the job centre of the area of residence, for employment purposes.
When can you request the severance grant?
The unemployment benefit must be requested within 90 consecutive days from the date of unemployment due to termination of the service agreement.
The submission of the request after the 90 days, but during the legal concession period of the benefit, implies the reduction on the concession period for the time correspondent to the delay observed.

How request the severance grant?
The termination of activity allowance is requested on the job centre closer to your area of residence.
Before requesting it, the self-employed must be registered for work at that job centre.
If, within 90 consecutive days from the date of unemployment due to termination of the service agreement, they are unable to work due to an illness, the registration may be carried out by a representative.
