What are the documents and requirements to register an imported vehicle?
The documentation for registering a vehicle depends on the type of vehicle and whether or not it has a Certificate of Conformity (COC) or National Homologation.
A COC is a declaration of conformity to the European Commission type approval, requested from the vehicle manufacturer.
Homologation is the act by which the IMT certifies that a vehicle type conforms to the technical requirements set out in the legislation and has undergone the required tests and controls.
If you have a COC or homologation, requested from the vehicle manufacturer, you must take it with you. You can register the vehicle without one of these documents, but it is more expensive.
On these pages you will find the documentation and registration fees for each type of vehicle (light vehicles, mopeds and motorcycles, tricycles and quadricycles, heavy vehicles, trailers, agricultural tractors, and industrial machinery).
