About "My data in the Public Administration"

"My Data in the Public Administration" fulfills measure number 72, "My Data", of the Simplex 2020/2021 programme, which main objective is to make available consultation mechanisms allowing citizens to know what data about them is kept in the main registers of the Portuguese Public Administration, and to show when and why their data is shared.

Currently, only data regarding criminal records, driving licence points, traffic offences and the Digital Mobile Key (CMD) is available. The Administrative Modernisation Agency (AMA) is responsible for processing this data. This responsibility applies even in situations where personal data managed by other public entities is shared.

In the future, this area will provide new data, records and processes managed by the public sector, allowing citizens to:

  • know more information about what the Portuguese Public Administration keeps about them
  • exercise, in a simplified manner, all their rights regarding their personal data, namely regarding access, correction and portability of such data
  • reduce the need to prove their status to comply with duties or obtain benefits by allowing the Portuguese Public Administration to use the information it already holds.
