What is the Paperless Invoices service

If you join the Paperless Invoices service, you will receive your invoices by email, if they are issued with your VAT number at participating establishments.

You can join as a citizen and/or as a company representative.

How to join the Paperless Invoices service

To join you will need to authenticate yourself with a Digital Mobile Key (CMD) or Portuguese Citizen Card.

To join as a company representative you need to have joined the Professional Attributes Certification Scheme (SCAP).

When joining the Paperless Invoices service you:

  • define the email address where you want to receive your invoices
  • can set a PIN code that you will need to enter when opening your invoices.

Once you join, you can:

You can change or add up to two more emails where you want to receive your invoices.

Changing or adding new emails only applies to invoices you receive after you confirm the change or addition. Invoices you received previously will not be sent to the new email.

You can activate, change or deactivate the PIN code to open invoices.

The PIN modification will only apply to invoices you receive after validating the change, which means:

  • if you had a PIN activated and you deactivate it you will have to keep entering the PIN on the invoices you received before deactivating it
  • if you did not have a PIN and you activate it you will continue to open old invoices without a PIN
  • if you had a PIN and you change it you will have to enter the previous PIN on the invoices you have already received, the new PIN will only apply to the invoices you receive after the change.

You can request the resending of any invoice you have received via Paperless Invoices.

This option allows you to receive any invoice again, even if you have deleted it or changed your email address, for example.

If you add your mobile phone number, you will be notified via SMS if an error occurs when receiving an invoice.
