Applications for the EU Prize for Women Innovators 2023 now open

The European Commission has opened the entries for the EU Prize for Women Innovators, promoted by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). The prize aims to honor women entrepreneurs and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

The EU Prizes for Women Innovators is open to women from all European Union (EU) member states and Horizon Europe associated countries who have founded an innovative business. 

The competition has prize money ranging from €20,000 to €100,000 and covers 3 categories: 

• Women Innovators - aimed at the most talented female innovators 
• Rising Innovators - for innovative women under the age of 35
• EIT Women Leadership Award - for women from the EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology community.
• Applicants may only apply for one category.

Eligible applications will be evaluated based on 3 award criteria:

• Breakthrough innovation - the company or organization founded or co-founded leads a breakthrough and disruptive innovation in the European Union or Horizon Europe associated countries
• Impact - the innovation addresses a real need or challenge, with significant benefits to people and/or the planet
• Inspiration - is an inspirational leader, who has played a key role in the success of the company or organization. She is a role model who inspires and empowers other women.

Applications must be made on the European Commission's website by September 27.
