Update of the vaccination plan against COVID-19

29.01.2021

The vaccination plan against COVID-19 will include, in the first phase, all people over 80 years old, with or without pathologies. This update is due to the worsening evolution of the pandemic in Portugal.

With this revision to the plan, it is expected that, by the end of March, 170,000 people in this age group will have taken the two doses of the vaccine and another 170,000 will have taken the first dose. The goal is to vaccinate 670,000 people by April, when the first phase of vaccination takes place.

Currently, vaccination is maintained for people aged 50 to 79 years with specific pathologies.

The establishment of vaccination centres is also underway to accelerate the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination plan.
