Applications open for the 4th edition of the IN3+ Innovation Award

Applications for the 4th edition of the IN3+ Innovation Award, a Million for Innovation, will be open until July 31, 2023. The contest, with a award of 1 million euros, aims to support and promote research and innovation (R&I) in Portugal.

The contest is aimed at universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, companies or startups, national or international, who present new projects or ideas within the areas of activity of Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (INCM) and who integrate INCM's Innovation Network. 

The motto of the 4th edition is "More Innovation, More Knowledge, More Future" and there are 5 categories for submitting applications, focusing on digital transformation: 

  • Nanotechnology
  • Robotics
  • Automation
  • Advanced Information Systems 
  • Production Technology and Advanced Materials.

The R&I projects, necessary for the development of the idea, will be funded to the first 3 classified:

  • 1st place: funding up to €600,000
  • 2nd place: funding of up to 250 thousand euros
  • 3rd place: funding of up to 150 thousand Euros. 

Applications must be made through a form submitted on the IN3+ Award website.

Applications may be submitted by individuals, or by legal entities in association, consortium, or other formal partnership with academic or business entities.

The results of the 4th edition of the IN3+ Innovation Award will be known in November.
