COVID-19: mask wearing is no longer mandatory in hospitals and nursing homes

10.04.2023

The use of masks is no longer compulsory in hospitals, health centres and other healthcare units, nursing homes, home care services and long-term care units.

However, mask use is still recommended for:

  • people with COVID-19, until the 10th day after onset of symptoms or positive test
  • the most vulnerable and chronically ill
  • visitors and staff in residential care facilities.

It should be remembered that it is no longer compulsory to wear a respirator in closed places, such as Citizen Shops and Citizen Spots, but it is recommended to wear it if there are many people in the same space. It is also suggested to disinfect hands before entering the Citizen Shops and Citizen Spots.
