Submission of 2022 IRS declarations starts tomorrow
The submission of the annual Personal Income Tax (IRS) declaration in respect of income for 2022 is from April 1 to June 30, 2023.
The IRS declaration submission has to be done online on the Portal das Finanças. If you need support, you can go to some Citizen Spaces or some Parish Councils that will help you to submit the declaration. You can also go to any tax office.
To submit the IRS declaration, you will need your access password to the Portal das Finanças. If you submit your IRS with other persons (for example, wife or children), you will need to have everyone's tax identification number with you.
The Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira (Finances) also provides the following means to help those who have difficulties in submitting their tax return electronically:
- e-balcão service, with access through the Finance portal
- Centro de Atendimento Telefónico (217 206 707), available every working day between 9am and 7pm.
