Finance releases guide on extraordinary income support

24.10.2022

The Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira (AT) has launched a guide to clarify doubts about the extraordinary support for income earners. The support began to be paid on 20 October.

This measure, which aims to support families faced with the increase in the price of essential goods, allocates 125 euros to each person, to which 50 euros per dependent is added.

To receive the support, the following conditions must be met

  • have submitted an income declaration (IRS) model 3 for the year 2021 (only dependents included in this declaration receive the 50 euros)
  • to be resident in Portugal in 2021
  • not be a pensioner
  • have declared annual gross income up to 37 800 euros (2700 euros x 14).

The extraordinary support of 50 euros for each dependent is attributed even to those with incomes above 37 800 euros.

Payment is made by bank transfer. Check that you have the correct IBAN on the AT portal.

If you have not declared income during the year 2021, you will receive the Social Security support as of 24 October.
