Innovation Fund with open applications for clean technology projects

The European Commission has launched a call for proposals for small-scale projects under the Innovation Fund, a funding program for the deployment of innovative low-carbon technologies.

EUR 100 million is available in the following areas:

• activities supporting innovation in low-carbon technologies and processes in the sectors covered by the European Emissions Trading Scheme, including carbon capture and utilization, that substantially contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions
• activities contributing to the construction and operation of projects for the capture and geological storage of carbon dioxide
• activities that contribute to stimulating the construction and operation of innovative renewable energy and energy storage technologies. 

These technologies should have the potential to achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional technologies.

An information day is scheduled for April 20 and a practical workshop on application preparation is scheduled for July 4.

Applications are open until September 19th on the European Union funding portal.
