Government will support the portuguese economy during the COVID-19 outbreak

In view of the possible impact of COVID-19 on the Portuguese economy, the Government will implement measures to protect companies and workers. In situations of reduced demand, which can lead to a large decrease in turnover and a drop in revenues, companies may have difficulties in fulfilling their obligations.

To alleviate the effects of COVID-19, the Government presented a set of measures, which cover the following areas: support for companies' treasury, and work and social security.

These measures are in addition to those that had already been announced by the government. In addition to the launch of a credit line in the amount of 100 million euros, the government guarantees the payment of 100% casualties to workers subject to preventive isolation as determined by the health authorities.
