New method for requesting VAT refunds from other Member States

The submission of VAT refund requests to other member states of the European Union (EU) is now made in the new reserved area of Portal das Finanças.

From now on, it is already possible to submit VAT refund requests in the latest versions of the most used internet browsers, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. The request is no longer made through the Java application, since 31 March 2023.

The application for VAT refunds to other EU member states is available for taxpayers and certified accountants.
