WIPO promotes program for young specialists in intellectual property

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) launched the Young Experts Program (YEP) for future intellectual property (IP) experts. The programme will provide theoretical and practical training to 12 junior professionals for 2 years in Geneva, Switzerland.

Starting in January 2023, the young people will learn ways to create impact in their countries in a real work context, have mentoring and guidance, and access an international community and network. Applications should be made through the WIPO portal.

The requirements for applications are as follows:

  • Be 35 years old at the date of application
  • To be available for 2 years, from 2023 to 2024
  • Have a university degree
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • A high level of analytical, research and organisational skills
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have an excellent level of written and spoken English.

Having knowledge/experience in the areas of IP, innovation and creativity and knowing other UN languages are preferential requirements.
