National Investment Support Program for the diaspora

19.08.2020

The National Programme for Support to Investment in the Diaspora (PNAID) was published to support Portuguese and Portuguese-speaking emigrants to invest or expand their economic activity in Portugal. The PNAID also supports national entrepreneurs who wish to internationalise their business through the diaspora.

One of the measures of the programme is the “Online Company" service, which is aimed at Portuguese and Lusodescendants who wish to set up a company in Portugal. This measure will be implemented by making available in the existing Citizen Spaces in the consular network of the already existing “Online Company" service.

The aim is to facilitate the creation or alteration of a company and the respective registrations in the ePortugal.gov.pt online channel, without prejudice to the following procedures with a view to the activation and operation of the companies created by this way.

The PNAID also includes 2 measures integrated into the 2020-2023 Justiça + Próxima (Closer Justice) Plan.

The first is the extension to emigrants and Lusodescendants of the “Justice of Peace Online", with the creation of an electronic support platform. This measure aims to facilitate access to justice and the courts, making this service accessible to Portuguese and Lusodescendants living abroad who need this form of support.

The second measure is the "Cross-border family mediation mechanism" which will make it possible to manage the resolution of situations or conflicts, such as the separation of many families, the need to regulate parental responsibilities in situations of separated families residing in different countries, or the safeguarding of the best interests of children.
