How can you initial registration of private individuals with the Contrastaria for import purposes ?

You can register with the Contrastaria when importing articles for the first time. To register for the first time with the Contrastaria and report an import, you should proceed as follows:

  1. Complete the form
  2. Select the country of origin of the pieces, and the type and quantity of the articles
  3. Declare that the items are for personal use, and not for any commercial purpose
  4. Provide the details of the person delivering and/or collecting the articles.
  5. Submit the form.

Once the form has been submitted, the Contrastaria will examine the request and make a decision based on the number of articles imported by the importer over the course of this calendar year. 

The Contrastaria will issue a decision within 20 days. If the decision is favourable, you should collect your goods from the customs office then hand them to the Contrastaria for examination. 

If the articles are unable to be marked, they are returned to the individual. If the goods are suitable for marking, they are marked by the Contrastaria and then handed over to the owner.
