New business and employment support package approved

The Government approved in the Council of Ministers the new business and employment support package worth 7.2 billion euros, 1.4 billion of which will be in the form of non-repayable grants, to be made available in the first half of next year. Also noteworthy is the extension of the Programa Apoiar (Support Programme) to medium-sized enterprises and sole proprietors (without organised accounting).

This new package of measures also includes the credit line for the exporting industrial sector, which is endowed with a further 300 million euros (out of a total of 1.050 billion euros) and now includes companies operating in the tourism sector.

New instruments have also been launched to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and sole proprietors, in the form of rent support and the creation of a treasury fund, and credit lines for large enterprises.

So far, more than 22 billion euros has been allocated in support, of which 2.790 billion euros has been non-repayable.
