Criminal record can be requested by e-mail

Due to the closure of the Citizen Shops, the request for criminal records of individuals, companies or other entities can be made by email.

In this way, you should fill in a request form according to the document you want to obtain, whether the criminal record of individuals or the criminal record of companies and other entities, and send it to the email sicrim@dgaj.mj.pt.

Alternatively, but preferably, the request for these documents should be made through the online criminal records portal, authenticating yourself with your Portuguese Citizen Card (with the authentication code and card reader), or with the Digital Mobile Key (CMD). After making the request, a Multibanco reference is sent to pay the fee. Once the payment is made, the certificate will be available in the portal itself as soon as it is issued (in the section "My Requests", through previous authentication).

The criminal record may also be obtained, in person, by appointment at one of the following locations:

• Citizen Spots
• Courts
• Central services.
