Support of 30 euros for food for the neediest families extended for two months

The government will extend for another two months the monthly support of 30 euros for those who benefit from the Operational Program to Support the Most Deprived Persons, to compensate families for the increased cost of living.

The extension of the support serves to help families buy the products that make up the food basket foreseen in the program. 

The support has a monthly value of 30 euros for each beneficiary (for example, a family of four will receive 120 euros), which will be paid by Social Security through a bank account deposit or postal order.

Extraordinary support to more vulnerable families 

In March, the Council of Ministers approved an additional support to family allowance, to be paid to each child and young person receiving family allowance, in the monthly amount of 15 euros, paid every three months until 2023.

This additional support to family allowance will be paid on May 16th, and will cover about one million one hundred thousand children. The payment will be made retroactively. 

The support covers holders of family allowance for children and young people, corresponding to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th income brackets of the household.
