Applications for nationality by proxies will now only be made online

As of December, applications for Portuguese nationality submitted by lawyers or solicitors as proxies can only be made through the Portuguese Nationality service on Portal da Justiça.

Access to the Portal da Justiça is done by authenticating with a digital certificate to prove that you are authorised to submit the nationality application. 

Within the platform, agents can find specific forms for each type of nationality application, as well as support information and an automatic document validation tool. After submission, it is also possible to check the status of the application online.
