Reinforced service in Citizen Spaces
The service is being reinforced with the opening of more counters at the Citizen Spaces in Laranjeiras, Saldanha and Setúbal.
The reinforced service will work to address the following services:
- Request and delivery of a Social Security Identification Number (NISS)
- Activation of the Digital Mobile Key
- Changing your Social Security address.
It will soon also be possible to request a tax identification number and change your address with the tax office at the reinforced service counters.

Changing your Social Security address at the reinforced service counters
Submitting a paper form
To change your Social Security address, you need to present a valid identification document (e.g. passport or residence permit) and fill in this change of address form. The application form is also available at the counter.
If the change of address is requested by a legal representative, the legal representative must bring a valid identification document (e.g. passport or residence permit) of the person for whom the change of address is being made.
With access to Social Security Direct
You can also change your address at the reinforced service desk at the Citizen Space with access to Direct Social Security (SSD). To do this, you need your Social Security identification number (NISS) and your SSD access password.
