Who can pedir certificado de capacidade matrimonial?

People with Portuguese citizenship who want to get married abroad.

What are the documents and requirements to pedir certificado de capacidade matrimonial?

To request the certificate of marital capacity you must present one of the following identification documents:

Citizen's Card

Identity Card

Passport

Residence Permit.

If the person you are going to marry is a foreigner, you must also present the birth certificate of that person.

What is the Price to pedir certificado de capacidade matrimonial?

The marriage capacity certificate is part of the marriage process and as such has no cost of its own. Starting the marriage process costs 120 euros.
