Animal feed – authorisation as a feed importer

Any business wishing to import feed originating from a third country, to use it or to put it into circulation, must be registered and authorised by the National Authority for Animal Health (DGAV). In order to obtain authorisation, the undertaking must comply with the hygiene requirements applicable in the feed sector.

Documentos and requirements

The following documents must be attached to the form:

  • Form 559/DGAV – Declarations of responsibility
  • Lease agreement (if you do not own your storage site)
  • Permit to use the premises, and plan of these premises (if you own your storage site)
  • Appropriate economic activity (SIC) code (registered with the Tax Office for this purpose).

Procedure

  1. Sending the form
    • Click on the ‘access the service' button.
    • Confirm your identity using a valid means of electronic identification (Digital Mobile Key, Citizen Card or Digital Certificate).
    • Complete the online form and attach the documents.
    • Submit your application.
  2. Examination of the application
    • The form and the documents will be examined by the DGAV’s technical department.
    • If everything is in order, the authorisation will be granted.
    • If there are any errors, you will be requested to provide further information or to correct the documents. Once the applicant has provided this information, a new examination is conducted to ensure everything is correct.
