Pig Stock Declaration (DES)
All operators of pig holdings must submit a pig stock declaration on the website of the Institute for Financing Agriculture and Fisheries (IFAP). The declaration must indicate the number and category of pigs they own.
The declaration must be made three times a year, in April, August and December.

You need to be registered in the reserved area of the IFAP portal.
Procedure
Online on the portal of the Institute for Financing Agriculture and Fisheries (IFAP):
You will need to authenticate yourself with one of the following means:
- Digital Mobile Key
- Citizen's Card
- IFAP user number and password.
Once you have the means of authentication you want to use, follow these steps:
- Click on "Declare now" on this page
- Authenticate yourself in the IFAP reserved area
- Click on "Meu processo" and choose the "exploração" option and then "declaração de existências".
The request can also be made at a helpdesk, at any department of the regional Food and Veterinary Services or at the organisations that have a protocol with IFAP:
- Download the Pig Stock Declaration - Mod.800/DGAV form and fill in the document.
- Go to your prefered helpdesk and hand in the document.
How much
If you submit the declaration online, on the IFAP portal, it's free.
If you submit the declaration at a DGAV regional office, it costs 3.04 euros. If you ask to print the form at the counter, it costs an extra 10 cents.
The payment method, such as cash, ATM or bank transfer, depends on the regional office.

Order no. 292/2015, of 12 January - Establishes the form and frequency of stock declarations for sheep, goats and pigs.
